Event Description:
Stilbaai Funduro 2021
This is the thirdrunning of this event, and following feeedback from riders, the route has been shortened to 60km on a mostly new track. Level of difficulty: Moderate

185 riders participated in last year’s event and the organisers are hopeful that this year the event will even be bigger and better. The course has been altered from 2020 due to large erosion ruts caused by heavy rains.
The track of 2021 is much more open and flowing with less technical and tight sections. However a few surprises will await the riders. This year the course consist of a 60km loop with the refueling at the start. Riders can do two loops bringing the total distance to 120km or the one loop of 60km.
Starting on a private farm the track follows predominately rocky jeep tracks for 10km whereafter the route takes you onto sandy outcrops and valleys for approximately 35km. From there is flows on to hard pack limestone tracks until it passes through a culvert and down the escarpment to the finish. A small obstacle course comprising of tree logs awaits the rider just before the finish. The track comprises of 60 sandy sections and 40% rocky limestone.
A technical red loop branches off the main track and will test your uphill skills. It will take the intemediate rider approximately 2 hours to complete. Food and drinks will be available at the start as well as some lucky draws. This promises to be the highlight of funduros for 2021 as this event takes place within breathtaking scenery and caters for the whole family as a fun day out.
